Bahrain in Membership of Presidential Council of IOV

The International Organization of Folk Art (IOV) is one of the major international non-government programs operating under the direction of the United Nations.  The annual conference concluded yesterday in Prague, where 370 delegates from over 130 different countries convened for five days of sharing and presenting reports and papers about the arts and cultures of various regions throughout the world.
The Kingdom of Bahrain was praised for its ability to establish the organization's regional office in Manama, and the management of the branches throughout.  A special thanks was given to His Majesty, the King, for making a specialized scientific journal accessible in three different languages.
Mr. Ali Abdullah Khalifa was selected to serve as the Deputy Chairman of the organization by a unanimous vote.  Representatives from the Philipines and United States were also elected for leadership roles within the organization.
The successful leadership of His Majesty over the years is being recognized and "has put Bahrain firmly on the international arena of civil work..."
Congratulations to Bahrain!
